A free-to-enter quiz has been launched by Powys County Council to raise awareness of the Powys War Memorials Project.

The quiz is made up of 10 questions and a tie-breaker based on war memorials.

The council obtained funding for the project from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Cadw and Brecon Beacons National Park Authority.

One aim of the Powys War Memorials Project 2014-2018: ‘A Mark of Respect’ - a four-year project commemorating the centenary of World War 1- is to work with local communities, volunteers and others to find, record and catalogue all the World War 1 memorials in the county. There is also funding available through the project to repair, restore and maintain World War 1 memorials.

There are four prizes, worth almost £200 in total, to be won with a first prize of a pamper day at the Lake Country House Hotel and Spa, Llangammarch Wells, Powys.

The closing date for the quiz is Friday,June 9 2017. Any entries received after this date will not be entered. Winners will be announced at the end of June.
