An assembly member is to hold a Brexit discussion event next week.

Steffan Lewis, Plaid Cymru AM for the South East, will be hosting an event in Abergavenny to discuss the impact of Brexit on Wales’ future.

The event, which is open to all, will give Abergavenny residents the chance to question Plaid Cymru’s Brexit spokesperson on the issues arising as a result of the UK’s vote to leave the EU.

‘Brexit: What now for Wales?’ will take place on Wednesday, December 7 at 7:30pm in the Melville Theatre, Abergavenny.

Steffan Lewis, Plaid Cymru AM for the South East and spokesperson for Brexit, said, “I am looking forward to leading the discussion at Plaid Cymru’s event. This will be an opportunity for the community to come together to talk about the future of our nation following the biggest political upheaval in a generation.

“Everyone is welcome, whether you voted for Brexit or to remain. Wales faces both new challenges and new opportunities as the terms of the UK’s exit from the EU are negotiated.

“Brexit will affect our economy, our public services and our environment. I know many people want to have the chance to discuss what Brexit means for them.

“I hope that this evening will be an interesting and informative event and an opportunity for the people of Abergavenny to debate Wales’ future.”
