Mohammad Asghar, Assembly Member for South Wales East, has condemned President Trump’s ban on Muslims travelling to the United States from seven Middle Eastern countries.

Mr Asghar said,“I am dismayed that President Trump has signed an Executive Order banning Muslims from seven Middle Eastern countries from travelling to the United States.”

“This ban is totally divisive and unacceptable. It will only succeed in stirring up hate and fear of Muslims and exacerbate an already dangerous situation.”

“Stigmatising people because of their nationality cannot be defended. Several federal judges have halted the deportation of visa holders believing the ban to be unconstitutional.”

“I hope President Trump will reverse this damaging ban immediately.”
