Local police officers have warned residents of two ’distraction’ burglaries which happened earlier this afternoon.

Police believe a male, aged around 50, and perhaps with a white van, may be involved.

A statement issued on the Abergavenny Officers Twitter feed said, "Reports of two distraction burglaries in the last hour.

"First on St Teilos Rd then Ross Rd. Male described as short, approx age 50.

"White or black cap, Blue top. Claiming to be from the water board. Any info to 101. Officers doing an area search."
