Abergavenny police are looking for people with any information regarding the theft of a schoolchild’s bicycle.

It was stolen from King Henry School on the last week of term. Police have CCTV from Abergavenny Leisure Centre of the person who took it and are in the process of trying to identify the individual.

The bike is a red giant mountain bike purchased from Gateway Cycles Abergavenny.

A family spokesman for Lewys, the young boy whose bike was stolen said: "Lewys’s bike cost £350 plus accessories, it was bought so he could ride to school every day.

’’It was stolen from outside the leisure centre where he was told to park it and he had done every day for over a year with other bikes belonging to other children attending the school.

"This mean person needs to be shamed for the upset they have caused with this total dishonest act.

’’How will youngsters learn if other are seen to get away with thieving."

A money reward is being put up for the bike’s return and police are urging anyone who has seen a red giant bike recently in suspicious circumstances to contact them on 101.
