Police yesterday confirmed that a local man had passed away in Abergavenny.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police, told the Chronicle,

"At around 12:50pm yesterday (Tuesday, October 29, 2019), emergency services were called to a report that a 52-year-old man had been found deceased within a property in the Monk Street [area], Abergavenny.

"A cordon is in place around the property while officers investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. The cause of death has yet to be established and this will be determined following a post mortem.

"His family has been informed."
