LOCAL police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary at an address in Castle Street in Usk on Wednesday, January 23.

The incident occurred at about 10am, when a man entered a property purporting to need to check the radiators. The man engaged the elderly resident in conversation while two accomplices entered the property and stole money from the kitchen area.

The men are described as white and the first male entering the property is believed to have been wearing a dark hat, a dark top and lighter coloured trousers.

The images provided show the men who police would like to speak to in connection with this incident.

If anyone has information about this offence or recognises the men in the images, they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Gwent Police would like to remind residents to never open the door without using their chain; never let strangers into their property; always check a caller's identity with the organisation they say they are from and if in doubt, send them to a neighbour who can check their identity.
