DECISIONS on the siting of a controversial Telecommunications mast in a sensitive area of the Brecon Beacons National Park have been postponed until December after a public outcry.

The construction, earmarked for Capel-y-Ffin in the Black Mountains had been described by applicants, The Home Office and EE as a ’17.5m telecommunications mast within a fenced compound.’

But people living in the area described it as a potential ‘monstrosity’ and utterly out of character with the pristine area.

The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority have now contacted all objectors stating that the application will now not be presented as planned on October 23, but will instead be considered on December 11.

Commenting on the postponement, a local organiser of the protest group stated, ‘This demonstrates that if we all work together we can make a difference - and we now have more time to make that difference.’
