A DRIVER has been arrested after an elderly pedestrian received serious injuries on a crossing in Crickhowell.

Dyfed Powys Police is investigating the road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 5pm on Thursday, November 3 on the crossing outside the Bear Hotel.

The pedestrian was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital while the driver was arrested and is currently on police bail pending further police enquiries.

High Street, Crickhowell, was closed for several hours whilst an examination of the scene was carried out.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PC 1155 McCrohon of the Mid Wales Roads Policing unit at Brecon Police Station on 101.
