THE Assembly's presiding officer is to take no further action against Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay, who was last week accused by a member of the public of being 'clearly inebriated' during a debate on mental health. Jonathan Morgan, a constituent of AM Julie Morgan had complained to presiding officer Rosemary Butler, claiming that Mr Ramsay, had slurred his words, been 'incoherent and insolent' and was unsteady on his feet An investigation was launched by Mrs Butler and has found that there are no grounds for further action. An Assembly spokesman said: "The presiding officers have looked into the circumstances thoroughly and have reached their conclusions. They confirmed that there were not grounds to call the Member to order during the plenary session on June 10. They will not be making any further statement about the matter." The Welsh Conservatives declined to comment further. Mr Ramsay also declined to comment on the incident.
