NORMAN Lewis from Abergavenny has this month taken over as the new postmaster at the Bryn Trading Post.

This community shop and post office has been trading successfully for the last 2 years. It was set up as a community interest company by the local Bryn community following the loss of its post office in 2005. The Bryn Trading Post opened its doors in September 2006 and each year has made a profit, which is reinvested in the shop allowing it to increase the range of local produce on sale.

The Post Office is open from 9am to 11am Monday to Friday and has proved a big hit with the locals.

The shop is open from 8.30am to 11am Monday to Friday and on 8.30am to 9.30am on Saturday. The shop has had great success in selling local produce and has a large number of household items, groceries, frozen food and other staples including local sourced milk and eggs.

Another crucial service it undertakes is to provide daily papers for the residents of the Bryn and beyond.

The Bryn trading post is situated in the Bryn on the playground of the old Bryn School from which Adventa now operates.

"Its great to be part of a community and to ensure the post office continues to support and serve its local customers," said Norman Lewis the new postmaster.
