NEW boys Raglan head the Gwent Central Premier Division following a midweek 5-4 home win over Crickhowell and a 2-4 away victory against Llanfoist on Saturday.

In the Crick game, Raglan's strikes came from Paul Rennie (2), Matthew Tabb (1), Chris Jordan (1), plus a Huw Morgan own goal.

Crick netted through a Josh Ling hat-trick and a strike by Ben Powell.

Man of the match for Raglan was Neville Harris. Man of the match for Crickhowell was Ben Paul.

In Llanfoist, Raglan's David Byrone and Chris Jordan posted the points, whilst Kris Morgan and Jason Bowen scored for the home team.

The stand-in referee for this match was Paul Jones, who did a very good job.

In midweek Usk Town recorded a 1-3 away victory at Gilwern and District. Usk led 0-1 at half-time through a goal in the 20th minute by Matthew Sherwood. Usk then went 0-3 up in the second-half through a Martyn Latham goal in the 55th minute, plus a Gilwern own goal in the 65th minute.

In the 80th minute Kieran Shelvin pulled a goal back for Gilwern but it was a little too little too late.

Gilwern's man of the match was Matthew Burkitt.

Usk's man of the match was George Ashworth.

Llanarth maintained their winning ways with a midweek 5-3 home win over Pontypool Town.

Goals for Llanarth came from Daniel Wheeler (2), Luke Williams, and Colin and Steve Morgan.

On Saturday, Gilwern and District visited Albion Road to take on Pontypool in an encounter that saw the visitors trailing by 6-1 in the second-half, before they bounced back with a vengeance to draw the day 6-6.

Man of the match Chris Parry and Adam Carrington bagged a brace apiece, and Matthew Williams and Kieran Shelvin all chipped in with individual efforts.

Pandy had a good week, playing two and winning two. In midweek they had a 5-2 local derby win over Llanfoist with goals from Steve Wedlock (2), Chris Morgan, Shaun Moss, and Jason Osborne.

Goalscorers for Llanfoist were Andrew Ewers, who was later sent off, and Dan Richards.

Man of the match for Pandy was Leyton Davies. Man of the match for Llanfoist was Jamie Jones.

On Saturday Pandy played newcomers Crickhowell and went on to win the match 2-4, thanks to a Chris Morgan hat-trick and a David Lambert goal.

Crick's goals came from Ben Paul and Owain Jones.

Ben Paul was Crickhowell's man of the match. Kieran White was Pandy's man of the match.

Last season's Division One champions Clydach Wasps drew their derby match with Govilon 1-1. Craig Evans fired the Wasps into a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute, but Govilon's Paul Sullivan levelled the game in the 85th minute with a thunderbolt of a shot over the Clydach's keeper's head.

On Saturday the Wasps lost 1-5 at home to Pilcs. Matthew Williams scored a consolation for the Wasps. Man of the match was Jason Powell.

On Saturday Govilon beat Fairfield 1-2 away in a match where Stuart Norman scored all three goals - two for his own side and one for the opposition.

In midweek the Blaenavon Blues beat New Inn 2-1 with goals from goals from Matthew Cox and James Camage.

Man of the match for the Blues was Nathan Priest.

The Blues went on to trump Mardy 2-3 on the weekend with marksmen Marcus Williams, Lee Jones and Jason White inflicting the damage.

Matthew Wham scored a brace for the Mardy.

Man of the match for Mardy was Lewis Edwards.

Man of the match for the Blues was Joe Prince.

Clydach 'B' lead Division Two following a midweek 1-5 away win over Fairfield 'B' where Ben Ward scored four of the Clydach goals plus one by Nathan Wall.

On Saturday Clydach beat Mardy 'B' at Bailey Park 1-4, with goals via a Evan Hall hat-trick and one from Luke Welsh.

Daniel Hoeler scored Mardy's consolation goal.

And finally, last week Prescoed scored an amazing 24 goals and conceded just two, after thrashing Mardy 'B' 15-0, and taking Blaenavon 'B' to the cleaners to the tune of 9-2.
