COUNCIL chiefs decided on a new civic centre for 450 staff to be built in Monmouthshire.

There are several plots to be considered throughout the county, one which includes Coopers' site in Llanfoist.

The new building, to replace County Hall, is estimated to cost around £20million. Both Torfaen and Monmouthshire councils, who reside in County Hall, have agreed to leave the building by the end of 2010. The decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the council last week.
