HE is used to taking to the floor of the House of Commons but MP David Davies took to the Barnardo's shop floor as part of CSV Make A Difference Day.

The Monmouth MP left his day job behind to volunteer at the Barnardo's Cymru shop in Abergavenny. David Davies wanted to encourage people to volunteer to help raise vital funds for vulnerable children.

Yvonne Rodgers, Director of Barnardo's Cymru said, "Volunteering in your local Barnardo's Cymru shop really can make a difference. Income from these shops helps to maintain our local projects, which offer support to so many vulnerable children and their families."

The annual campaign, organised by UK volunteering charity, CSV, encourages people to get a taster experience of volunteer work. It is also an ideal opportunity to meet other people in the area and make a big difference to the local community.

Barnardo's Cymru encourages retail volunteers from all walks of life from students to those who have reached retirement and for many it can be the ideal route back into work after a career break.

Yvonne added, 'We are really pleased to see so many MPs and AMs signed up to this initiative and showing their commitment to volunteering."
