A Clydach motorist has pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of a driver and a motorcyclist in a crash on the Heads of the Valleys road last October.

At Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday Luke Jones, 24, of Dan y Coed admitted two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

Jones was driving a Skoda Fabia on the Gilwern to Brynmawr stretch of the A465 at the time of the accident at around 12.35pm on October 27 2012.

Peugeot driver Phillip Bath, 29, and biker Glyndwr John Evans, 49 were killed in the crash.

Jones was due to be tried by jury next week but changed his pleas to guilty.

Judge David Williams said he would be given credit for his guilty pleas but warned him he would face a substantial prison sentence. He was bailed to October 17 so that pre-sentence reports can be produced.

Judge Williams ordered him not to contact Thomas Baynton and imposed a condition of residence.
