After appearing on the stage many times each year for around the last 17 years ,well known local actor and singer Molly Brickley Clark is turning her hand to directing, making her debut with a production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Borough Theatre next week.

Nineteen year old Molly decided that with a new life as a student at the University of Portsmouth due to start in September the time had come to give something back to the theatre where she has spent so much time and has had so many good experiences and discovering that the theatre is facing a financial crisis, she decided to put on a full scale musical and give any proceeds made to the Acting For the Borough (A4B) committee which represents the theatre’s community users.

Molly has directed and choreographed the whole show from start to finish, and is very excited about the prospect of seeing it on the stage along with the musicians, who she says are going to be “awesome”.

The cast is made up of local performers from many local societies with whom Molly has worked over the years, and she is incredibly grateful for all of the time and effort they have put in to rehearsing for the show.

Jesus Christ Superstar can be seen at the Borough Theatre next Thursday and Friday and tickets cost £10 and are available from the theatre box office on 01873 859805.
