If you’re looking for a family outing with a difference this summer head for Magor Marsh where Gwent Wildlife Trust is staging two performances of a new adventure based on Wind in the Willows characters Ratty, Toad, Mole and Badger.

The outdoor performances on Friday August 14, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, allow the audience to enjoy the adventures of Ratty the water vole and his friends in the wonderful surroundings of the marshland, which is home to a growing population of re-introduced water voles.

There will be two showings in the open air, one at 11am and one at 2pm, and refreshments will be available. Booking is essential for this special event, so please call GWT on 01600 740600 or email [email protected].

Gwent Wildlife Trust has re-introduced water voles at Magor Marsh over the last four years. By supporting this event you will not only have a great day out but you will also be helping the charity protect these water voles and other precious wildlife and habitats of the Gwent Levels.

Ian Rappel, GWT Chief Executive, said, “This is a fantastic way for families to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Magor Marsh with a lively, fun-filled performance based on a much-loved children’s classic, where you may even get a chance to see the real ratty out on the reserve!”

Admission: GWT adult members £5/children under 16 £2; adult non-members £6/children (under 16) £3.
