UPDATE:Torch Theatre’s production of the award wining play Grav which was due to be staged at the Borough Theatre in Abergavenny on Saturday has become the latest casualty of the winter weather. “Due to the extreme weather the show Grav will not go ahead tomorrow night. We are unsure at this stage if we can reschedule this event or not,” said Lynsey Wheeler of theatre. “ The Box Office remains closed today and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”Monmouthshire County Councils highways crews have been out in the early hours to assess roads across Monmouthshire and are again urging people not to attempt to travel with many roads in the county impassable due to snow drifts and abandoned cars.
MCC has also paid on social media to the 19 farmers with their tractors who have been working with the council’s gritting teams as they work to grit roads and clear snow. and our amazing teams gritting roads and clearing snow.
In Abergavenny many businesses, including Cibi Walk, closed, some for a second day although all major supermarkets were open.
As the freeze continues engineers from Monmouthshire Housing Association have been advised not to drive until further notice.
