Mardy residents could skip the walk to town, if a planning application for a new fish and chip shop is waved through next week.
Plans to convert the defunct Premier convenience store on Hereford Road into a fish ’n’ chip shop are recommend for approval at next week’s planning committee meeting.
The application submitted to Monmouthshire County Council states that current building’s dimensions would not change.
Some 14 letters of objection – balanced by 32 letters in support – cited increased levels of noise, litter, and parking problems, and ‘the attraction of undesirables’ as reasons for opposition.
