A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. following a head-on crash near Abergavenny which left four people hospitalised.
Police and fire crews rushed to the crash scene on the A4042 at around 4.50pm yesterday, to find four people trapped in the wreckages.
Specialist teams from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service used Hydraulic Rescue Cutters to cut them free.
Two casualties were taken to nearby Nevill Hall Hospital, the other two were taken to Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said, “At approximately 4:50pm on Monday, July 11 Gwent Police received reports of an RTC on the A4042 near the Hardwick Roundabout.
“There were no life threatening injuries.
“A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause serious injury by dangerous driving.
“He is currently on police bail pending further enquiries.”
