GWENT Police are investigating two fatal collisions involving motorcycles which occured in the area during the weekend. A 32 year old Chepstow man has been arrested following a road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 11.15am on Saturday June 21, on the A449. The collision involved a black BMW car and a white Kawasaki motorcycle. The motorcycle driver, identified as 60 year old Kevin Morgan from Cwmbran, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the areas of the Southern Distributor Road, Coldra roundabout/ junction 24 of the M4, or the A449 in the lead up to the collision. The BMW was driving with its roof down. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 202 21/06/14. Gwent Police are also appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 00.45am on Sunday June 22 on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road near Clydach. The collision involved a blue Peugeot 206 car and a red Kawasaki motorbike. The rider of the motorbike, who has yet to be named, was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 quoting log 34 22/6/14.
