Caldicot, Chepstow and Monmouth Male Voice Choirs will join forces at Caldicot Castle on Saturday, June 18 for an evening of entertainment in aid of the Monmouthshire & District National Eisteddfod. The choirs will be joined by the acclaimed Welsh tenor Wynne Evans, who will host the concert.
The choirs will perform separately before joining for a grand finale, bringing them together for the first time in over thirty years. All money raised will go towards funding the 2016 National Eisteddfod, which will be held in Abergavenny from 29th July to 6th August - a festival that is expected to attract over 150,000 visitors to the county.
County councillor Phil Hobson, Monmouthshire County Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for the Welsh language said: “This evening with the county’s male voice choirs will be a wonderful occasion and will celebrate the community’s musical talents in an iconic and atmospheric venue. It will build on the celebrations that are already taking place in Monmouthshire in the approach to the National Eisteddfod. Why not bring a picnic for maximum enjoyment!”
Tickets are on sale now at a cost of £22 (including booking fee) and are available from www.caldicotcastle.co.uk, Monmouthshire’s leisure centres or by phoning the box office on 02920 224488.
