Police last week urged residents to keep sheds and outbuildings secure to thwart thieves following a spike of burglaries in the Monmouthshire area.

Residents have reported 11 shed burglaries to Gwent Police, within the last fortnight.

Officers advised using good-quality padlocks and ensure that valuables are out of sight and locked up.
