A popular local radio station based at Nevill Hall hospital is revamping its studio with thousands of pounds of help.
The volunteer-run NH Sound Radio, based at Abergavenny’s local hospital, has written a shopping list including state-of-the-art computers, a new station and software as part of the £4,000 upgrade paid for from fundraisers and help from the Big Lottery fund. ??Broadcasting seven days per week, the station is also known for its involvement with local community events, and hosting local voices.
Organisers launched the station at the Pen-y-Fal Hospital in 1979 as the Pen-y-Fal Hospital Radio Society, before transferring to its current Nevill Hall home in the late 1990s.
The station is available via digital radio at nhsound.co.uk or on the radio at 1287mw.
