THE winners of a quiz at Gilwern Library have been treated to a fun day out at Abergavenny's Borough Theatre as their prize. Miles Finch, aged seven, and five year old Nathan Williams, both of Gilwern School, successfully completed the special quiz, which tested their knowledge of the library and its facilities. Alison Newsam, community library assistant, organised the competition to promote the library. She visited classes at Gilwern Primary School and invited pupils to visit the library and take part in testing their little grey cells. Miles and Nathan were announced as the winners and were presented with tickets to the Saturday fun day, courtesy of the Borough Theatre. Linda Thomas, library information assistant, said the quiz had been a good success and urged other members of the community to come and discover the library for themselves. "We have a specially extended children's section and offer free internet access to the public," she said. Gilwern Library is open every Tuesday, 10am until 1pm and 2pm until 6.30pm, Fridays, 10am until 1pm and 2pm and 5.30pm, and Saturdays from 10am until 1pm.
