WITH a proud history of over 20 years, Abergavenny Netball Club have just acquired two new coaches and are hoping to attract more players to their cause.

The club, which has always played in the South East Wales league, has one team in the first division and another team in the second division.

The doors of Abergavenny Netball club are open for girls over the age of 14 and women of all ages and abilities, where they will receive a warm welcome and the best of coaching from Siobhan McQuillan and Sarah Smith.

Siobhan used to play for Abergavenny as a junior and has played for Wales. She left the area to train as a physiotherapist but has returned to the club as a player/coach - a role where this talented player will no doubt shine.

Her fellow coach, Sarah Smith, has played for the club for over a decade and is now looking to step back from playing a bit and assist Siobhan with the fitness of the overall team, whilst undertaking her coaching qualifications.

A spokesperson for the club told the Chronicle, "We have two strong teams but definitely want to attract more women to come and play for us. Playing netball is a great way to get fit, have fun, and make friends.

The club will begin training on August 12 at Abergavenny leisure centre from 7.30 - 9.30pm.
