The Kingcoed team were the winners of Raglan’s recent Raise the Roof Car Treasure Hunt.
Over 40 treasure hunters took part, including Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay and his team, and Anne Chilcott and her huband, David Dixon-Didier who live in Nelson, New Zealand but pay regular visits to Raglan where they grew up.
The trail followed a picturesque route through country lanes, visiting four churches and tracking down 32 clues before ending up for light refreshments at The Olway Hotel, near Usk.
Only half a point separated many of the teams, with the Kingcoed team of Shirley and Glyn Powell, Anne Chilcott and David Dixon-Didier the narrow winners with a top score of 32.
Robert Hughes thanked everyone who had supported the event, which raised over £200 for St Cadoc’s church. Church Warden Neville Crump thanked Robert and Mary Hughes for organising such an enjoyable event.
