The results for the Four Ball Better Ball Stableford were: 1st - Steve Brown/Charles Davey (47 points). 2nd - R A Morgan/Simon Lewis (41 points). 3rd - Tim Rowlands/John Bunston (41 points).

The results for the Junior Stableford 18 Holes were: 1st - Rhys West (34 points). 2nd - Daniel Brain (33 points). 3rd - James Smith (31 points).

The magnificent Powella Cup for the mixed competition was won by Jim Rawlings and Hefina Thomas on 33 points.

The next big event at the club is the Captains Charity Competition on Friday May 14. The proceeds this year will go to The Pain Relief Foundation, which was established 31 years ago by the club's Captain with colleagues in the Neurosciences Department of Liverpool University, and which researches into the causes and treatment of all kinds of chronic pain - that of cancer, arthritis and nerve injury.

The money raised will be used specifically for funding the secondment of staff members of the Chronic Pain Unit at the Neville Hall Hospital to the Foundation in Liverpool for advanced training in the latest treatment techniques.
