EXAM results at King Henry VIII have improved on last year with 99 per cent A*-E pass rate at A2, nearly all pupils exceeding their predicted grades and over 20 per cent of pupils gaining all three A Level passes at A*-C or above.

Two pupils Caitlin Bamber and Ryan Bentley gained the top grades of A*A in all their examinations.

A ’significant’ number of pupils have also gained entrance scholarships to universities, these include Luke Gumery - Criminology, Hannah Mayled – Zoology, Sean Price – Computer Science, Kieran Rogers – Mathematics, Abagail-Lea Williams – Romance Languages and Laura Yates – Psychology.

Year 13 students will now embark on their chosen university courses, these include a wide range of subjects such as computing, criminology, humanities, English, maths, sciences, languages, the arts, media and journalism, nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, economics and finance.

“The current Year 12 has laid a solid foundation for future success with their excellent AS results. It is pleasing to note the high number of students attaining A-C grades, with Bethan Gilson, Ffion James, Louise Morgan, Eleanor Newsam and Ahmed Ramadan all achieving four top A grades. Congratulations to all. We wish them well with their future studies.” said King Henry’s head teacher Elspeth Lewis
