LAST week two life long friends who have shared many interest since childhood set off on one of their biggest adventures to date. crossing the one of the world's busiest shipping lines in a kayak.

Hugo Llewelyn and Adam Huntington-Whiteley both 37 kayaked across the English Channel hoping to raise £75,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital's Leukaemia department.

The men, of Wernddu and Penpergwm, only had eight months of training and have only been in a kayak four times, but managed to cross the 25 miles in good conditions in four days.

Adam said, "We have only been in kayaks about 4 times each so we're not exactly experienced which makes the challenge all the more daunting, not to mention having to plot a route between the P & O Ferries."

Their inexperience did not deter them from the challenge along with raising money for a worthwhile charity.

Adam adds, "We are both keen to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause and any one wishing to donate can do so at http://www.justgiving.com/k4c&quot">www.justgiving.com/k4c"
