KRISTIAN House will return to the scene of his greatest triumph on Friday week when he rockets around Abergavenny as one of the star entries in the Get Connected Welsh Open Town Centre Crits.

It may not be the National Championships road course, which riders in the Iron Mountain Sportif on Saturday week can tackle, but the tight town centre races on Abergavenny's streets are challenge enough.

A challenge that takes on a unique emphasis when you consider that this year's Get Connected races are part of the National Elite Circuit Series - and 30-year-old House is part of a Rapha Condor Sharp team which is flying,

House admitted he had a great year after beating Thomas and some of the country's other big names, like Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, over the line in Abergavenny 12 months ago.

Now, it's his aim to get Elite Circuit Series points at the Get Connected Crits.

The Get Connected event, which also includes the FR Ball Traders' Race and Youth Races as part of the build-up programme towards the main professional competition, has a mixture of both twists, turns and straights which tests the riders all round abilities.

The fun will start at 6pm with the youngsters riding the circuit followed by the welcome return of last year's hugely popular Traders' Race, backed by local company FR Ball.

To date, 15 teams from the Abergavenny area have risen to the challenge and entered the competition.
