TWO holiday cottages at a country hotel were damaged in a fire on Saturday evening.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service said they were called to the blaze at Glangwrwyney Court at Crickhowell at 8.55pm on Saturday, February 5 and were still at the scene the following morning.

Six fire engines from Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Talgarth, Brecon, and Hay on Wye and a water bowser from Builth Wells were called to the blaze at the privately owned Georgian Grade ll listed country house.

The fire service said the roof was collapsing in on the two story holiday cottages based behind the hotel.

Standing in 33 Acres of parkland and four acres of walled gardens Glangwrwyney Court once featured on Five TV programme Hotel Inspector.
