THE Hen and Chicks is holding a charity day in aid of Breast Cancer Care this weekend.

'Chicks in Pink' takes place this Sunday, November 23 and there will be fancy dress, face painting, hair braiding, live music and an evening disco.

Staff at the pub will be decked out in head to toe pink, in keeping with the 'Chicks in Pink' theme. They will also be creating some pink cocktails just for the day.

Manager Kate O'Donnell said, "This is very much a family day and we'll have something for everybody. Kids can enjoy the live music and adults can make the most of the live band and pink drinks! And for those who fancy a spot of retail therapy we'll be selling floral displays and make-up."

The pub is hoping to raise funds via a raffle and sponsorship of a brave customer who has committed to having his back waxed.

Top prize in the raffle is a two night stay in the recently refurbished Grove Hotel, with other prizes including a meal for two at the Hen and Chicks and bottles of wine. But you needn't rely on luck to win a prize; the pub is also handing out prizes for the best pink outfit.

All money raised will be handed over to Breast Cancer Care at Velindre Hospital. The day starts at 12pm until late. For more information contact the pub on 01873 853613.
