An Abergavenny funeral director is aiming to scale new heights in its bid to create a mountain of Easter eggs this year.
Philip Goode Funeral Directors (part of Co-operative Funeralcare) in Castle Street has launched a public appeal for Easter egg donations to help bring cheer to local children.
The campaign is part of a national initiative by Co-operative Funeralcare, which is seeking ‘eggstra’ special support from communities nationwide to help create a four ton chocolate mountain.
Ms Pauline Owen, funeral arranger for Co-operative Funeralcare, said, “Last year we gathered over 12,500 eggs which were distributed to hundreds of children throughout the country. This year we want to boost that amount by weighing in a four ton mass of eggs nationwide and help bring a bit of joy to many more youngsters this Easter.”
Eggs can be handed in to the branch staff in Abergavenny until March 24.
