Abergavenny and the surrounding areas have been hit by last night's heavy rain, with several roads closed and properties flooded

The A465 Heads Of The Valleys road was closed in both directions near Abergavenny close to the Hardwick roundabout.

In addition to this, the A4042 was closed this morning between Abergavenny and Llanallen due to flooding on the road, which left one car stuck. Recovery teams are heading to the site.

Castle Meadows has also suffered from the floods, with the River Usk bursting its banks at Llanfoist Bridge.

And two properties in Llantilio Pertholey had to have around 2,000 litres of water removed last night (Wednesday), with fire crews remaining at the scene for eight hours pumping water from the homes and arranging sandbags to prevent further damage.
