LLANGATTOCK Church in Wales Primary School has
double cause for celebration this week having been
awarded the Healthy Schools and Green Flag Award.
The Healthy Schools award was presented in
recognition of the school's strong commitment to
promoting a healthy lifestyle and environment.
Independent assessors spent an afternoon at the
school where they given a presentation by Year 5 and
6 illustrating the school's healthy policies followed by
a tour of the school to show all the initiatives in
places.
These include healthy playtime snacks and
lunches, a fruit tuck shop, a variety of extra curricular
sports clubs and special keep healthy school rules.
The Green Flag Award was achieved due to the
school's active eco-club its commitment to recycling
and composting, saving energy and water, effective
use of the school's grounds in developing a variety of
habitats for wildlife and promoting global awareness
and citizenship.
