Local campaigners are asking everybody to Go Pink and Know Your Lemons in aid of breast cancer awareness, this month.

Tenovus Cancer Care have teamed up with Worldwide Breast Cancer and their Know Your Lemons campaign aiming to spread awareness of the telltale signs of the disease.

Marion Ashton, chair of Abergavenny Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care, said, “We are working together not only to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, but also to make sure anyone worried or affected by breast cancer can call our free support line on 0808 808 1010.”

The Know Your Lemons campaign has provided a visual guide, helping to identify the 12 most common signs of the disease which counts for almost one-third of all female cancer cases in the UK.

“Tenovus Cancer Care are proud that our scientists helped develop Tamoxifen, the most widely-used breast cancer drug in the world,” said Mrs Ashton.

“Each year we invest in life-saving breast cancer research, and support thousands of people.

“We need your help to continue this work. Join us and Go Pink this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Whether you hold a bake-off at work, a dress-pink day at school, or a pink-themed quiz at your local—however you get your pink (and lemon) on, every penny we’re given will help us reach even more cancer patients and their loved ones.”
