A Cwmyoy family is appealing for help to find their beloved missing parrot who has been in the family for over 20 years.
Barbara North got in touch with The Chronicle this week in the hope her family parrot ‘Chinky’ could be found and returned to their Cwmyoy home.
Chinky, a blue-fronted Amazon, is predominantly green, with flashes of blue and yellow on his forehead.
He’s been missing since around Christmas time, and the family, who’ve had him for over two decades, are still hopeful he will show up. ?
?“He’s very intelligent. Usually, when we let him out, he calls out to tell us where he is. Even if he’s a few fields away,” said Barbara. ?
?“Only three times in the last 20 years has he gone too far from here. Something could have happened. He could be lost. ??
“He has always come back, he rarely goes far from home, so we are fearing that something has happened to him or he has been stolen,” said Barbara. ??
Chinky has been in the family since Barbara’s three children, now in their 30s, were young. The children saved up £500 between them to buy the bird, and helped train him. Chinky is no stranger to the limelight having won the Chronicle’s ‘Posiest Pet’ competition many years ago.
The family is asking anyone who may have seen Chinky, or have any information whatsoever, to get in touch with the Chronicle on 01873 852187.
