THE popular Green Man Festival is to remain in Crickhowell for at least the next ten years after the owners and trustees of the Glanusk Estate and the organisers of the festival agreed a new contract signed this week.
The terms of the agreement are confidential but mean that Glanusk Park will be the home of the Festival for at least the next 10 years.
Harry and Iona Legge-Bourke, who run the estate said, “We are delighted that the multi award winning Green Man Festival will be remaining here at Glanusk for the foreseeable future.
"This is a huge deal for both Glanusk and the surrounding communities of Crickhowell, as the festival provides much needed economic benefit to the many local businesses, as well as allowing the local community to raise money through having a concession during the festival.
"Green Man has also been a supporter of local sports and charitable causes. This is yet more confirmation that Wales and Powys are on the map when it comes to hosting major national and international events and we look forward to welcoming artists and guests to the Black Mountains and Glanusk in the years to come”.
In 2013, The Times Newspaper said of Glanusk Park, as a venue: “Of all the festivals in all the fields in Britain...probably the best field of all has been bagged by The Green Man Festival”.
Green Man Festival dates for 2016 are August 18-21st and further details can be got at www.greenman.net
