Govilon - 3

AC Pontymister - 2

A resurgent Govilon came from behind twice to win their thrilling mid-week encounter against AC Pontymister.

Govilon's first setback came 10 minutes in when goalkeeper Sam Morris was judged to have fouled Woods as he charged towards goal and it was Woods himself who hammered home the penalty award despite Morris' valiant attempt to thwart the spot kick.

In a match which flowed from end to end Govilon were indebted to Danny Marfell for his goal-line clearance, before at the other end Govilon's Craig Norman saw his shot hit the legs of a defender.

It was from the resultant corner that it was AC Pontymister's turn to save on the goal-line from Matthew Heritage's blistering drive.

On the half hour Govilon were level when Ben Bannon released Craig Norman who chipped goalkeeper McLaughlin from inside the box. Govilon's lead however was short lived as Pontymister regained the lead in the next minute with a headed effort.

Govilon introduced Jamie Laurent on the hour mark and he made an immediate impact drawing his side level as he jinxed into the box and found the corner of the net.

Govilon, sensing victory had Pontymister penned into their own half as they launched attack after attack and as the seconds ticked away it was Richard McCarthy who rose to meet Laurent's cross and give Govilon the points.
