A BLACK kitten who became a temporary resident of an insurance office in Abergavenny is now awaiting a new home - or a reunion with his old one.
Alison Ravetta, who works for F R Ball Insurance in Frogmore Street encountered the young tomcat while shopping before going into work.
The kitten had strayed into a food store and was about to be turned out by an assistant. Alison states, ‘I asked what she was doing with the kitten and she said she was putting it on the street so it could find its way home’.
Fearing the young animal would activate a get-out claws and make a run for it, Alison took it into work for its own safety. ‘It is such a busy stretch of road, I was worried it might get run over’ she explained.
Alison contacted the Gwent branch of Cats Protection and a local volunteer collected the kitten which by now had comprehensively covered managing director, Paul Wadsworth’s desk.
Despite posters circulating the kitten’s details and social media appeals no-one has come forward to claim the little boy. A spokesman for Cats Protection said he was obviously well loved because he is so affectionate.
The kitten is being cared for by one of the branch’s fosterers but after two weeks in care it will be advertised for rehoming. If anyone has any information about the kitten’s owners, contact Cats Protection on 0345 3712747 or 01873 857737.
