THIS summer, 16 children, many from Abergavenny, joined in with the fun and performed their own musical at the Funky Monkey Music and Art Summer Club. The children prepared and performed songs for a mini-musical and got stuck in with the art -side of the project, by creating their own costumes, props and sets for their musical performance.

Ran by Merren Edwards, a professional musician and drama coach, Funky Monkey is a summer club open to all children, held at Llanddewi Rhydderch Village Hall. This is Funky Monkey's second year and their latest production was Wormzzz!, a one off performance for their family and the village.

Merren Edwards described the club as "great fun" and an "exciting opportunity" where children are able to express their creativity and have some fun this summer - without driving their parents insane!

The summer club will once again be returning next year for its curtain call.
