Abergavenny Fire Station is staging a community fun day in partnership with Gwent Police and MCC next Saturday (September 3) from 11am to 4pm.

The event is also part of a recruitment drive for retained firefighters and to highlight crime prevention and community safety.

Watch manager Neil Skelton said, “There will be lots of games for the family to play, refreshments in the form of drinks and a barbecue, raffles, tombolas, ’dunk a firefighter’, stocks for throwing wet sponges and so on.

“We will also have our hydraulic platform there, a rope truck for an abseil demonstration, a boat and demonstration crash car, motorbike and cruise car and we will be staging RTC demonstrations. Everyone’s welcome.”
