WITH the new coaching staff of Tony Edwards and Mark Fleet at the helm, Abergavenny started the first in their string of pre-season friendlies with a ten point win
Played in a 'four quarter' format with subs being brought on as the coaches saw fit. It was a pretty combative friendly, as evidenced by the high penalty count and an Abergavenny prop being sin-binned for tripping.
This Saturday Aber will face a different kettle of fish when Penarth visit Bailey Park for the second of the three friendlies, before their season begins in earnest with a game against Rhymney on September 5.
