Young people have the chance to get a taste of law enforcement life by joining up with a volunteer police scheme. ??Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) are a nationally recognised and uniformed police group for youngsters aged between 14-18. ??Now recruiting, a spokesperson for the police cadets said volunteers gain life skills and qualifications, and have fun. ??“Being a Cadet is not only fun and a great place to meet new friends by being part of a fantastic group of young people, it also encourages a spirit of adventure and good citizenship. You will develop life skills and achieve transferable qualifications through your many experiences as a Cadet. Our longest service Cadet of 4 years, Jake, has now moved on to being a Cadet Leader after gaining the confidence and experience to do so,” a spokesperson said. ??Applicants must be between 14-18, and have a desire to learn about policing and supporting their local community. ??Cadets will do a variety of tasks, including delivering leaflets, manning stalls at community events, offering advice in crime hotspots, assist with PCSO training, take part in licensing operations, work with neighbourhood policing teams, and support various community groups and bodies. ??Does this sound like you?
