Abergavenny is getting ready to welcome royal couple The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today - St David’s Day.

They are visiting Abergavenny and Blaenavon to learn about the importance of the agricultural industry to rural populations, and how community organisations are providing support to young people while also celebrating the history of the region.

William and Kate will first visit Pant Farm near Abergavenny,  where they are due to meet farmers Gary and Jess Yeomans and representatives of the wider farming sector.

Following their time at Pant Farm, the heir to the throne will visit Abergavenny Market, which plays an important part in the town’s annual food festival.

The royal visitors will see firsthand how important local suppliers are to rural communities, as well as celebrating St David’s Day.

We’ll be bringing you all the latest on the royal tour via our live blog, so anyone unable to get into town today can still be a part of the occasion.

Are you heading out to try and catch a glimpse of Prince William annd Kate Middleton? If you do manage to see them, we’d love to share your pictures!
