What is Abergavenny’s link with Buckingham Palace, who is Walter Morgan, why did Abergavenny clash with King William and just who was ‘Bloody Mary’?
Find out the answers to these and many, many more intriguing questions when a cast of well known local performers takes you on a whistle-stop tour of more than 900 years of Abergavenny’s roller coaster history through popular music and songs in Abergavenny Chronicled! - a brand new show performed in aid of the Abergavenny Chronicle’s Sir Ray Tindle Fund.
Set up last year the fund gives out grants to local good causes and all profits from this show will be distributed among organisations in The Abergavenny Chronicle’s area.
Written by Chronicle editor Liz Davies with musical direction by Sarah Fowler, the fast paced show features some of Abergavenny’s best known performers including A4B award winners Cecilia Balwer, Brickley Clark, Patrick Callahan, Alys Le Moignan, Sarah Phillips and Luke Williams.
Covering almost a millennium of history in just two hours, the lighthearted show promises something for everyone and includes music from Abba to Disney, Ivor Novello to Irving Berlin and Ed Sheeran to The Stray Cats!
Abergavenny Chronicled! can be seen at the Borough Theatre on Friday, June 16 and tickets costing £10 are available now from the theatre box office on 01873 850805 or online at www. boroughtheatreabergavenny.co.uk
