THE pupils at Llantilio Pertholey Primary School have always enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day and this year was no exception. But David Walliams has taken over as the favourite author from Roald Dahl for there were more of the characters from his books.

Two boys were even brave enough to turn up as The Boy In The Dress and there were many more from Mr Stink, Gangsta Granny, The Ratburger and Midnight Gang.

Other characters included the fantastic Mr Fox, Sophie, Miss Trunchbull and Danny, Champion of the World from Roald Dahl books and the ever popular Paddington Bear and Little Red Riding Hood. There were several Dennis The Menaces and even The Tiger Who Came To Tea, complete with a rather large tiger. More unusual was the black cat Hollypaw from Power of the Three Warriors.

The staff always choose a theme and this year it was the David Walliams books with Mr Stink, Gangsta Granny, the Billionaire Boy and There’s a Snake in My School.
