A DRIVER has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the death of a motorcyclist at Clytha near Abergavenny on Saturday evening.

The collision took place between a blue Honda Motorcycle and a Range Rover near the Clytha Arms Pub and Restaurant on Groesonen Road, Clytha, Abergavenny.

The rider of the motorcycle, from the Bristol area, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Range Rover, who is from Monmouthshire area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses following the crash which took place at around 7.30pm on Saturday, June 4. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 562 for June 4

A police spokesman said the motorcyclist’s family are supported by specially trained officers.
