FINAL rehearsals are underway for the popular and renowned musical Les Miserables (Schools Edition) being performed by Junior AAODS under the production team of Jaci Brickley-Clark and Sarah Fowler.

The story, set in revolutionary France, catalogues the life of Jean Valjean from rags to riches and the effect he has on those he meets. The title role of Valjean is played by Harvey Daniell, with Sian Roche playing the unfortunate Fantine, who entrusts to his care her daughter Cosette, played by Molly Brickley-Clark as a child and Rohanne Welsh-Harding as an adult.

Pursued through his life by the policeman Javert, played by Cieran Jenkins, he shows compassion and helps save his life to later be spared by Javert himself.

A comic element is introduced by Rob Peacock and Aimee Mogford who play the unscrupulous Thenadiers to great effect.

Several haunting melodies such as Eponine's On My Own, played by Chelsea Viveash and Cossette's song Castle on a Cloud plus rousing choruses such as Do you Hear the People Sing? will undoubtedly have the audience emotionally involved in this story of loves lost and found, kindnesses repaid, hardships borne and revolutions fought. Les Miserables will be performed at the Borough Theatre on Monday 17 until Saturday, November 22. For tickets contact the box office on 01873 850805.
